What lies beyond the brush

What speaks more eloquently than words is the atmosphere.

Through stillness, movement, texture, and space,
the Oracle Scribing Experience is conveyed visually.

Dedicated to Mikugurumi Mitama Shrine (September 9, 2024)

Because the divine
pervades all existence,
in this world
light pours in,
wind passes through,
and water overflows.

Where there is the warmth of fire,
one may feel
the scent of earth
quietly rising.

All things,
all living beings,
are shown to be
filled with life—
alive.

In other words,
the divine
is the presence
at the very source
of all that exists.

Everything moves
as if in a gentle dance,
vivid,
alive,
and pulsing with being.

Through this motion,
we are shown
that the workings of life
are here.

Each time we see
the ever-changing light of the sun,
we are reminded
that constant change
is, above all,
profoundly beautiful.

Even when
thunderstorms rage
and deafening sounds
echo through the sky,
this too
is a certain sign
that the divine
is present here.

Without this presence,
this world
could not exist.

It is as though
this entire world
were itself
the dwelling place of the divine—
everything sacred.

The fragrance of spring,
the vividness of summer,
the abundance of autumn,
the clear cold of winter.

In this way,
through the five senses,
the divine
speaks to humanity.

And within it all,
it feels
as though even
the gentle smile of the divine
is quietly
being conveyed.

Hometown—
it is precisely
the place to which we return,
and it is something that
always continues to exist
deep within the human heart.

When we come into contact
with that presence,
even while still alive,
we may come to understand
the meaning of death
and begin to awaken.

It is not something distant,
but something that exists
everywhere, always.
When we gaze upon it
in this way,
what becomes clear is this—

its power
never runs dry.
And this,
is by virtue of
the boundless grace of heaven.

That which is
one and all-powerful
stands as the true axis,
from which even now,
unceasingly,
it is being conveyed to us.

We are shown this
when flowers bloom,
and we come to realize it
when our throats are quenched.

Even in times
when suffering is present,
there are moments
when blessings—
like treasures of gold—
are bestowed upon us.

Even if
the realm of the gods
exists in the heavens,
there are times
when its wondrous beauty
is reflected
and revealed
within the human world.

And those
whose hearts are captured
by that mystical presence
become, before all others,
a single piece
in the unfolding of creation
of that world.

This, indeed,
can be called
the highest honor.
